Is the iPhone better than Moto Q, Blackjack & Treo? a quick look

Well at this point I guess we have more questions than answers. To start of the discussion Ive done a quick comparison between the iPhone, Moto Q, Treo 750 & Blackjack.

my 2 cents on the iPhone

Typically extra-cool Apple design. The voice mail feature definitely surprised me!! You can now get a list of all your voice mails and select the one you want to listen to. This will add to the coolness factor apart from being very useful.

Im concerned with the network iPhone is using. They support the quad-band GSM with the EDGE network. This obviously means that video download is going to be slow. But I guess with wi-fi capability this might not be such a big issue.

One feature I really like is the vertical and horizontal flipping screen.  Not only does this enable both video and photo display at higher image sizes, but it also makes navigating the web easier as sites can be displayed in native web aspect ratios.

Having said that Im still finding it hard to justify the price point. I’m not willing to shell out $499 for a few extra features. But, that’s just me.

Check out the look, feature and size comparisons and let me know what you think.

losers

From initial reactions looks like RIM and PALM are the big losers. We’ll have to see how everybody else will be impacted. Also this is a great deal for Cingular (exclusive!!), could affect Sprint, Verizon and T-mobile.

My guess is that the iPhone is also going to slow down the sales of the iPod video & Zune.

bottom line

Definitely a game changer/disrupter, but probably enough time for the competition to play catch-up before any of us get our hands on the iPhone (in june).
