iPhone released, all the drooling for good reason

For me, nothing's official until I read it on TechCrunch (insert winking smiley here).  Of course I'm blown away by the iPhone, classic Apple design that makes everything else look like a 19th century train wreck.  My fellow Zolved blogger Raveen threw together a post Comparing iPhone, Moto Q, Blackjack & Treo. His bottomline is pretty much right on: the iPhone is cool and may have better working features, but everyone else has enough time to beef up their devices before anyone can use an iPhone (and see if it actually works or not).

On a side note, I'm quite upset that it is tied to Cingular SBC AT&T a service provider.  I liked the rumor that Apple was going to offer the iPhone "carrier-less".  That would have made the iPhone more like the iPod, not just changing the way we use a cellphone, but completely changing an industry. Oh well, I guess we can't expect Stevie Jobs to right every wrong in the world (insert tongue-in-cheek smiley here).
