will iPhone kill Blackberry? I dont think so
A significant portion of the cell phone market is driven by businesses, especially the high-end phone market that Apple is entering. While the iPhone targets individuals, the Blackberry targets the corporations.
Businesses really dont want music, touch screens etc..What they want is push-email, organizers, pdf, excel, word doc viewers, security and some business applications. IPhone is working with yahoo to get the push email feature..but I think people are still going to see iPhone more for its coolness quotient than for any serious business use.
My take:
To me it seems that iPhone will be more attractive with the younger crowd…who funnily enough will probably not be able to afford the $499 price point.
I think Blackberry is going to be alright. I don’t think we will see a big change in the landscape. For business, I have no doubt in my mind that I would go for a Blackberry. Thoughts?*
