Vista upgrade: I guess Microsoft never learns!!

My fellow blogger continued his 'rant' about the Vista in his latest blog entry. Well for a change I must admit that he his right. In my previous blog entry I had talked about why I think small businesses must consider upgrading to Vista. I would have been spot on if not for Microsoft's stupidity!!

Now according to ZDNet the new Vista upgrade DVD's will not be able to install on a machine that does not already have either XP or 2000. So basically if anyone wants to wipe out their hard drive (say becasue of a virus etc..), they will have to first install XP or 2000 and then go through the trouble of upgrading to Vista.

Knowing how upgrades go with Windows I would have to take back my advice and ask everybody to NOT upgrade to Vista yet. If you are getting a new machine chances are that it will come with a preinstalled version of Vista...so go for it. For now keep your existing systems until it breaks down.

But if you do decide to upgrade, the team at zolved is working overtime to figure out the best way to upgrade to Vista and also solutions to possible problems. Just because you made one mistake (by trying to upgrade to Vista) dont make another by paying big bucks to Geek Squad.
