Top 10 Things To Toss Time (online)

With most software, there is always a disconnect between “what we think it should do” and “what people use it for.” So when we ask friends to try Zolved Remote Control, we weren’t too surprised when one person responded with this: “Hey, if you run Remote Control and Skype at the same time, two people can surf the web together remotely!” While Zolved Remote Control was meant to connect the tech-savvy with the tech-needy, using it for fun works for us.

Zovled Remote Control allows a person on one computer to view or control what's happening on another person's computer, from anywhere on the planet. Here’s what we see as the fun times to be had when two people see the same screen and talk:

1. Make fun of MySpace profiles together.
Poking fun at people on MySpace is like shooting fish in a barrel. But the “you shoulda seen this guy’s profile…” conversation the next day just doesn’t cut it anymore.  Share your acerbic wit with a friend. Now you’re mean and networking.

2. Do clothes shopping.

Not sure if that dress will make you look fat? Surf your favorite clothing store with a friend and avoid looking frumpy.

3. Collaborate on a game.

Does everybody on Yahoo! Chess only need five moves to checkmate you?  Well this way one-on-one becomes two-on-one. Now maybe it’ll only take seven moves.
4. Preview matchmaking sites together.

Have you finally come to the realization that you just have plain bad judgment? Connect with a friend and review your potential new mate together. Then when they end up being an emotionally needy loser, you won’t just have yourself to blame.

5. StumbleUpon together. Is wasting time at work just not as much fun as it used to be?
Mindlessly look at random webpages with a fellow useless cubicle rat. It’s like the Web 2.0 version of snuggling up in front of a warm fire.
6.      Digg/Reddit articles together. See #5.

7. Select Netflix movies together.

No, the new way to rent movies did not solve the action-adventure vs. romantic-comedy argument. Connect with your honey and compromise in a totally new spineless way.

8. Get advice while setting up a gift registry.

On second thought, the Waterford Twelve Days of Christmas Punch Bowl may not be the most practical wedding gift to ask for. Maybe Mom should watch your selection process so she can give practical advice (for a change).

9. Narrate vacation photos.

Digital cameras and photo-hosting sites doesn’t means you can’t bore your friends to death anymore.  And yes, 25 different angles of the Washington monument is very impressive.

10.Torrent together.

Hey why not!  If the RIAA is going to use IP addresses for lawsuits, it might as well be somebody else’s. Since we know the RIAA already likes suing grandparents, you might as well show grandma the bit.torrent ropes while doing some serious CYA.

So there you go. Don't just surf. Don't just talk. Double your pleasure, double your fun. Connect through VOIP and
Zolved Remote Control.
