5 major reasons you should avoid upgrading to Microsoft Vista . . . or at least until they get it right!

Thinking about Vista? Think again. After trying to determine whether I should upgrade, I decided it wasn't worth the hassle, especially when my kid claims that all the cool features are already on his Mac. Here are my 5 reasons for taking a pass:

Desktop search is hard to find. Microsoft had a great model in Mac to create easy to find easy to use desktop search. They blew it. Windows deja vu.
Why can't I have a choice of browsers? Mozilla, I love you but I have to work to get Firefox installed with Vista.
Where are the native apps?!!!! After 3 years of development you would think that Microsoft would have some great apps to show off their new OS. Instead, it's like getting a color TV with only black and white programing available.
It's pricey . . . more than double Mac OSX.
Hey, when you show me the ads with all the cool features, why didn't you tell me that many of the features only come in the most expensive version -- and why do you have different versions anyway -- home, premium, ultimate? With Mac, everyone is created equal and everyone pays the same price. Sorry, Microsoft, maybe Apple is right. I should switch to a Mac. Until then, I think I'll continue to use Zolved.com when it comes to solving my technical support problems for Windows XP. Microsoft is probably going to be too busy helping its new Vista customers!
