20GB Playstaion3 disappearing from retail stores.
Is it just me or does every Sony-related news story make them look like evil incarnate? Well this doesn't count, but it's close. A Best Buy employee informed
Joystiq (who confirmed) that the model is not going to be carried by that retailed. Then another Joystiq reader chimed in:
I work in a Circuit City on the east coast and our price tag lists the 20GB model as 499.96. 96 cents means it's either hard to get or discontinued in our stores.
On top of that we haven't gotten shipments of the 20GB since December. I think it's safe to say that model is quietly disappearing.
While neither the 60GB or 20GB version could qualify as popular, Sony said they were getting way more orders for the more expensive models ($600). So those brand loyalist (or old fogeys like me who can't learn a new controller), the entry fee for the next-gen gaming experience is officially ridiculous. You might as well go for PC-gaming or
vigilantly search for a Wii.
