dpreview.com bought by Amazon.

The number one website (in our assessment) for information about digital cameras has been part of Amazon product reviews for some time now.

If you ever bought a digital camera without researching it on Digital Photography Review first, you made an uninformed purchase.  But fear not dear reader.  Go to dpreview.com and look up your camera.  You will find the equivalent of 25 pages of information including well organized breakdown of the specs (including hyperlinks to technical terms you may not know), a detailed hands-on review of the camera's functionality with sample images, and a user's forum where you can converse with other owners of the same model.

Since 1998, these guys have been doing full, complete reviews of digital cameras. Site owner Phil Askey said that being bought by Amazon will mean he can spend more time expanding and improving the site. This is particularly good news since we've notice a slightly longer lag time for new cameras to appear on the site.

dpreview.com is a case study in "if you build it, they will come." With 7 million unique visitors every month and being acquired by an internet powerhouse, Askey's ship has finally come in.
