Gmail upgrades attachment size to 20 MB

Google Gmail has now doubled the attachment size of its email service. It is therefore possible to send 20MB in a single message.

There are a few mail providers that will accept such a big message, so it will be better to send messages bigger than 10 MB to other Gmail accounts, to Yahoo Mail Plus or to other premium accounts. If opting to use a third party for the sending, storing and receiving of large files, then there are services like YouSendIt and Tubes, among others.

Google is often the first mover to increase size restrictions for its free email service. Yahoo recently increased its free email storage capacity to support an unlimited amount.
