Go shooting far and wide

14X Spotting Scope Digital Camera could be an affordable alternative for those desiring a DSLR with telephoto lens.

Always fancied a digital SLR with a nice telephoto lens, but found the price a turn off? Then here’s something that’s as good as your object of desire.

The 14x  Spotting Scope digital camera, with its focal ability enables you to focus on an object just five feet tall at a distance of almost a quarter mile away. But there’s a catch. If you’re going for megapixelage, you’ll have to look elsewhere, as the camera boasts a mediocre 3.1-Megapixels, and only has 32MB built-in RAM. However, it accepts up to 2GB of additional memory using SD cards (not included).

It also has a pop-up 2 inch LCD screen for image previews and uses a USB port to download photos or videos to a computer. But the results may not be comparable to a Nikon or Canon DSLR. There’s no image stabilization built into the lens or sensor either, so you’ll have to use a tripod for any long-distance shots.

It’s currently available for $499.95.
