Google Maps for mobile enhances your GPS experience

Google has added GPS capability to its Google Maps, which uses the GPS receiver in your phone to plot where you are.

GPS or Global Positioning System has now become a regular feature on many mobile devices and peripherals. Now, combined with Google Maps for mobile, it provides a faster, easier way to access local information when you are on the go.

The BlackBerry 8800 smartphone from Cingular is the latest open GPS experience with Google Maps. You can now get software updates by just pointing the mobile browser to http://google.com/gmm with your GPS-enabled BlackBerry device. You’ll be prompted to download and install the latest Google Maps Mobile. This new release provides software support that would allow Google Maps to use the GPS module built-in to your device to improve your Google mapping experience.

Your location appears on the map itself, and moves as you do (you're the blue dot ). Also, find what's around you without entering your local information. Plan your route in advance with traffic updates + GPS. See where traffic starts relative to your current location, and avoid delays. Well, the possibilities are numerous.
