No place for MySpace in Apple stores
|
Apple's stylish stores and computers, all of which feature unrestricted Internet access, had of late become a favorite hangout and gathering place for MySpace junkies that the powers-that-be decided to block the popular social networking site from its systems.
Apple got sick and tired of people coming into their stores and hogging their computers for hours while wasting their time on MySpace.
Apparently, people have taken to coming in, taking pictures of themselves with PhotoBooth and uploading them to their profiles.

Anyways, the types who hang around for two hours in a store aren't those who would actually, you know, buy anything. Heavy MySpace use was simply getting in the way of business. And with the impending launch of the iPhone, perhaps the most hyped Apple product yet, store traffic could reach a fever pitch.
A statement from Apple Friday confirmed this. "Nearly 2 million people visit Apple stores every week," the statement read. "We want to provide everyone a chance to test-drive a Mac, so we are no longer offering access to MySpace in our stores."
