Amtek UMPC fits snugly in your pocket

Amtek is displaying a prototype of their new U560 UMPC at Computex Taipei 2007.

Amtek has designed the U560, a UMPC small enough to be put in a pocket. A prototype of the ultra portable computer is being shown at Computex.

The U560 is a unique “flip-up” style UMPC with full QWERTY keyboard. It's got an Intel 600MHz/800Mhz processor (depending on the version), a 1.3-megpaixel camera, 3600mAh battery and apparently runs Windows Vista.

Initial analysis is that the U560 is a quality UMPC with full compliment of options. It’s easy to hold and use, while maintaining a cool case to the touch. However, keep in mind the ultra portable concept while typing with the small form factor keyboard.

Amtek is planning mass production by end of 2007, though pricing and availability in the US are yet to be confirmed.
