Download movies with Archos 605 WiFi

Archos has just announced a new line of multimedia players with some advanced features.

In the good old days of grandpa, personal movie collection meant cans of 16 mm films that cost a bomb, not to mention the cumbersome set-up for every viewing occasion. And it needed a roomful of space to house the collection.

Dad’s days were better. VCR had become ubiquitous by then and he had a richer collection. Watching his favorite movie was just a matter of hooking the player to a TV. And all it needed was some shelfspace to store the collection.

I live in more exciting times of the multimedia players, when I move around with a huge movie collection in my pocket, watching it anytime, anywhere. As every manufacturer worth his flash memory is vying for that space in my pocket, things are getting only better.

The latest I hear is about the Archos 605 WiFi portable video. Their Generation 5 model sports a screen with improved pixels and comes with hard drive capacity ranging from 30 GB to 160 GB. Archos claims the top model stores up to 200 1.5-hour clips and can stream videos from a PC and record TV shows. Surfing the web and downloading movies are other distinct features.
