Levi's branded not-an-iPhone cellphone announced.

Baggy pants, cheap phone, and a chain that isn't for your wallet means you're a poser.

We have to agree with the wags over at Gearlog, there doesn't seem to be much point in a clothing company putting their name on a cellphone.  Maybe their marketing team sees the whole iPhone flurry and figures it's time to strike when the phone-news-iron is hot.

I just want to point out that Levi's missed the boat on the jeans-cellphone synergy* a long time ago. You know that 5th pocket on your denims? The Motorola V66 slid nice and snuggly right into it. I kept my V66 for four years just because of that. That's a long time to have a phone that doesn't do much. My current phone, the Razr, sorta kinda fits in there about half way. It's quite annoying having to carry it in a normal pocket.

Now I split my time daydreaming about 1) why have cellphones gotten bigger when all the technology they use has gotten smaller, and 2) how would I go about making that 5th pocket Razr-sized.
