LevelStar's Icon is a PDA for the visually challenged

Levelstar’s Icon Mobile Manager is not your typical smartphone. It has neither an alluring design or a multicolor display. But if you were to ask what’s so unique about it, it’s because the device has been designed keeping the visually challenged in mind. Isn’t it what we call ‘technology with a human touch’? 

This hand-held organizer or PDA has everything for the visually challenged — calendar, address book, clock, word processor, calculator, voice recorder, MP3 player, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. Instead of a screen, this Linux device with a 30gig hard drive features audio menus to help the user navigate.

To make use of Icon's more advanced features like Web browsing, users will have to buy the dock that comes with a Braille or QWERTY keyboard. But all this comes at a pretty hefty price tag of $1,395. Shipping is currently only in the United States.
