Sony's new TVs are even for the visually challenged.
The recent leaps in TV screen resolution have yet to include features for the visually impaired. Obviously so, it being an audio/visual medium. Thanks to advancement in technology, the visually impaired can now get a better feel of a television show with Audio Description (AD). During gaps in dialog, a voice explains the visual plot points if a TV is equipped with AD.
While most TVs need an additional decoder to listen to AD tracks, Sony Bravia TVs feature Integrated Digital Television (IDTV), that provides access to AD without needing a decoder. |
