Fujitsu raises the storage limit in USB drives
At a time when most portable 2.5-inch USB drives are maxing out in the 160GB to 200GB range, Fujitsu decides to set its own amazing 300GB platter to the task.
No doubt, USB drives are incredible devices allowing us the convenience of portability, especially for busy professionals on the move. But after a point – the maximum now is 160 to 200 gb – they get power hungry and can no longer run on USB buses. All those adapters and wires make portability all the more cumbersome.
Fujitsu has managed to push the USB drive storage envelope a little further and has come with a a 300GB bus-powered external drive that should be in stores by September. The slim device includes an integrated USB 2.0 cable to allow for quick and easy connectivity. Users are also assured that their data will be protected with the distinctive 16-point omnidirectional shock mounting design, which helps to reduce the effect of impact.
To own one, be ready to shell out $229 though.
