Canon 40D: No official word yet on specifications
Competition is fierce in the SLR market and unless an upgrade comes by, brands will soon go out of fashion. Canon must have realized this marketing truth after feeling the heat from Nikon D80 and D40.
The photography major was prudent enough to announce an upgrade for its popular 30D camera and keep the buzz alive about its products.

Even as anticipation of the forthcoming digital SLR, Canon D40, reached a fever pitch, the company has been tight-lipped about the specifications. However, there is talk of leakage of the specifications from Canon's Hong Kong site (accidentally?) in photography blogs. The Canon EOS 40D is predicted to sport a 10.1-megapixel image sensor, a 2.5-inch display, small RAW image format, support for compact flash cards and some sort of anti-dust feature.
Will there be more upgrades than this? Wait for a few weeks before the final answer officially drops at Photo Marketing Association (PMA).
