Zolved is a one-stop shop for all your technical support issues. Come to Zolved to get all your technical issues resolved!
2. Do I need to create an account to use Zolved?
No, you don't. But registration will give you access to advanced features that will enhance your experience. For example, by registering with Zolved, you will get access to Gurus/experts all over the world, who can help you solve your technical problems.
3. Do I need to login to Zolved every time I visit?
You need to login to Zolved only to use the advanced and personalization features. However, we recommend that you login every time you visit the site, so you can keep track of the questions you ask and also use the full range of features available.
4. Why am I being asked to re-enter my password?
At Zolved, we take your security and privacy seriously. Therefore in some cases, we request you to re-enter your password as a security precaution.

Zolved Gurus
1. Who is a Guru?
A Guru is an expert with specific domain knowledge. Gurus are also registered Zolved users, who can help solve your technical issues through their expertise.
2. How do I sign up to be a Guru?
Click on the 'Create Account' link on the top right side of the home page and register. It's that simple! Use the Ctrl key to select/de-select a single or multiple areas of expertise.
3. What do I gain by becoming a Guru?
Apart from having access to all of Zolved's advanced and personalization features, you can demonstrate your expertise and earn while you do so. You can also share your knowledge of technical issues with like-minded individuals and keep abreast of the all the latest trends in the tech world.
4. Who is qualified to be a Zolved Guru?
Anyone who is tech-savvy and experienced can become a Zolved Guru. And of course, you should want to help others with their technical issues!
5. What is the difference between a Zolved Guru and a registered user?
A registered user has access to all the content as also the advanced and personalization features. In addition to the features available to a registered user, a Guru can also answer questions asked by users and get paid for it.
Zearch
1. How do I search on Zolved?
You don't search on Zolved � you Zearch! Type a word, expression or phrase that best represents the technical problem you are experiencing and click on the Zearch button to find the most relevant results.
2. How can I narrow down my results while Zearching?
You can find the most relevant results on Zolved by being as specific as possible. For example, typing in 'How do I charge my iPod' will yield better results than simply typing in 'iPod'. You may also click on the 'Browse Community Solutions' link to apply filters and search by category, brand or topic.
3. How can I return to Zolved after being redirected to a different site?
Click on the 'back' button on your browser to return to Zolved. Alternately, you may view the article you have selected in a new window and close it when you are done to return to Zolved.
4. Do I need to login to zearch on Zolved?
You do not need to be logged in to zearch on Zolved. However, we recommend that you login every time you visit the site, so as to benefit fully from the advanced and personalization features.

1. What questions can I ask?
You can ask virtually any question related to technology. For example, you could ask questions ranging from 'How do I protect my computer from a virus' to 'How do I view videos in iTunes'? You can go through the content available on the site or ask Gurus/Experts in the field to answer your question.
Zolved discourages and may remove questions that:
- request private information about individuals
- want assistance in conducting illegal activities
- are meant to sell or advertise products
- refer or relate to adult content
- are homework or exam questions
2. I looked everywhere on Zolved, but didn't find an answer. What do I do?
If you haven’t found a solution to your problem, you can always ask a Zolved Guru for help. Like you, gurus are registered Zolved users, but experts in a specific domain. You might also get comments from other registered users.
3. Why do I need to ask a Guru when I can get all the answers myself on Zolved?
While Zolved makes every attempt to provide a comprehensive service for technical support, there may be an issue that is super complicated or one which doesn’t have a straightforward answer. This is where a Guru can provide enlightenment!
4. How do I ask a Guru for help?
It’s simple! Login to your Zolved account. Type your question in the ‘ask a guru’ box and select the category. Alternately, you can click on the ‘ask a guru’ link in the top right corner of the home page.
5. Can I see the questions that I ask?
Yes. All your questions are saved. Click on the 'My Zolved' link in the top right corner of the page, and you will see a section called ‘Questions’ with two tabs:
1) Open: These are the questions for which you have not yet received a satisfactory answer.
2) Zolved: These are the questions that have been answered satisfactorily.

6. Can I view the questions that other users ask?
Yes, you can. Click on the ‘Browse Discussions’ link on the home page to view the questions that other users ask, along with their status (open/zolved) and category. You can narrow down your results by using the filters on the page.
7. How do I view other issues that a particular Guru has answered?
You can view all the questions that a particular Guru has answered by clicking on their name and viewing their profile. To view a specific issue and its answer, simply click on the question.
8. Can I continue to watch a thread even after an issue has been resolved?
Absolutely! Click on the ‘watch for changes’ link in the top right corner to track a particular issue.
9. How will I know when my question has been answered?
You will receive an email from Zolved that a Guru has answered your question.
10. What if my question doesn't have a clear answer?
There may be situations where questions may not have straightforward answers. These may be better answered through a search or another source of reference (e.g. Which phone is better - Nokia or Motorola?). In such cases, a Guru may provide a link to more information on the question, based on which you could reach a decision.
11. The Guru only partially answered my question. How do I get further clarification?
You can make a comment or request a clarification once you receive your answer from a Guru. To request further clarification, you have to be logged in. Go to ‘My Zolved’. Click on the question with the answer you wish to clarify. Type your clarification and click the submit button. The Guru will be alerted that a clarification has been requested.
12. Can I rate an answer?
Yes, you can rate a Guru's solution. Login to your Zolved account. Click on the question whose answer you want to rate. Rate the answer and add a comment explaining your rating. Please remember that you cannot revise your rating. Therefore, you should only rate an answer after you have completed the ‘Answer Clarification’ process and are satisfied with the researcher's work.
13. How does Zolved make sure Gurus provide high quality answers?
Zolved provides a rating system as well as a mechanism for users to give feedback. This information is available to all registered users. So, a Guru who has consistently given satisfactory answers will have a higher rating as compared to a Guru who has not. This enables you, as a user, to evaluate Gurus, thus encouraging them to provide high quality answers.
14. What if I'm unhappy with the response I received?
If there is a problem with the answer you received, please give feedback and rate the Guru accordingly. Please remember that Gurus get paid only if you are satisfied with the response. Also, please inform Zolved of any violation of the usage terms and conditions.

1. Can I find someone to come in and fix my problem through Zolved?
You sure can! Go to the 'Find a Local Technician' section on the home page and fill out the details of your location. Alternately, you could click on the 'Find Technician' link at the top right side of the home page. Zolved will help you find technicians within a 100 mile radius of your location.
2. What technicians can I find?
Zolved presently has a large database of computer service stores. We are continually adding to this list and plan to add other types of technicians. Please note that many of the computer stores also service cell phones, printers and other such devices.
3. Why do I get 'sorry, no service found'?
We probably do not have any technician listed for the selected area. Try increasing the radius in your search criteria. If this does not work, please send us your location by clicking on the Give us Feedback link at the bottom of the page so we can find and add stores in and around your location.
4. I don't see all the stores on the map, why?
Try zooming in to the map by clicking on the '+' sign. At a high zoom level, some points are hidden one behind another. Once you zoom in, you should be able to see all points. If you still have a problem, please email .
5. Is there any extra cost involved in finding a technician on Zolved?
There is no extra cost involved in finding a technician on Zolved. You will, however have to pay for the support you receive from whichever technician you choose.
6. Does Zolved guarantee the track record of the technicians it lists?
While Zolved makes every effort to list only qualified technicians within a 100-mile radius of your location, it cannot guarantee or be held responsible for the quality of support provided. Please review our Terms of Use for more in depth information.
My Zolved
1. Is there a way to personalize my Zolved experience?
Absolutely! Click on the 'My Zolved' link at the top right side of the home page to view a list of all the questions you've asked. The ones for which you've received a satisfactory answer will be under the 'Zolved' category while those that are pending will be under the 'Open' category. You can also view all the articles/questions that are being watched by you.
2. How can I contribute an article or link to Zolved?
If you want to contribute to the Zolved database, all you need to do is to click on 'new article' or 'new link', located in the left hand side of the My Zolved page.
3. How does the Tag Cloud work?
By clicking on the tags available in the tag cloud, you can view all articles which contain that particular tag. The tag cloud is just one more way by which you can get to your solution on Zolved!

1. How do I create a Zolved account?
Click the 'create account' link on the top right side of the home page. To register, fill out the required fields and submit. It's that simple!
2. How will I know if my Zolved account has been activated?
When you have signed up successfully, you will immediately be redirected to the Zolved home page, where you can start using all the features. Additionally, you will receive a confirmation email from Zolved with your login details.
3. How do I change my account information?
Click the 'my account' link on the top right side of the home page, once you have logged in. You can then edit your account information..
4. Can I change my Zolved screen name?
Yes, you can change the Zolved screen name you chose when you first signed up. Please remember that this comes with inherent risks like other users getting confused about your identity.
5. What if I forget my password?
Click on the 'forgot password' button on the login page and follow the instructions on how to retrieve your password.
6. What do I do if I am having trouble creating an account?
If you're having difficulties creating your account, please contact us by using the 'Give Us Feedback' link at the bottom of any Zolved page.
7. Is my personal information secure on Zolved.com?

Yes. Your question and the corresponding answer will be posted on Zolved and can be viewed by anyone. However, your personal information will never be posted with your question, so your privacy is protected.
2. Will others be able to see my email address if I ask a question?
No. Zolved users see only your Zolved screen name. Zolved has a comprehensive privacy policy that we encourage you to review at 'privacy policy'.
3. Should I post my email address to Zolved if someone asks for it?
To protect your privacy, we recommend that you not post your email address or any other personal information on Zolved. The site is available for public viewing and may be indexed and crawled by search engines. Gurus are requested to not answer questions that contain or ask for personal information.
4. Is my information secure on Zolved?
Yes, your information is secure on Zolved.
5. How does Zolved use personal information it gathers about me?
Zolved uses your personal information only to enhance and personalize your experience.
