My sony playstation has stopped playing any BD movies altogether. The home screen shows (no media server). It was working fine, its' only been used a handful of times, and now it wont play movies or even my PS3 games! Argh! Configuration: Sony Playstation 3 History: Quite new, barely used |

When a game OR disc is inserted, no icon appears on the home screen, as if no disc were put in at all. Both games and BD discs have this happen.

Regarding disc, if NO disc works - not just a specific disk... drive is bad. - Posted by: hbalcom_596 at 20 Sep 18:42 permalinkHow can I fix a bad drive? Where can I bring it? Thank you~

If its really new, then you should be able to return it to the store from which you purchased it.
Otherwise, you'll need to contact Sony PS support and arrange for exchange. Be aware that your save games ARE NOT part of the exchange normally, make sure you've backed up your saved games etc.. or make arrangements with support to move that data.
