my Dell ( vista) 0computer freezes each time I try to uninstall a program in add or delete programs Configuration: dell vista History: had to turn off computer in the middle of uninstall and ever since can't get add or delete program to work |

I'd use system restore to go back to before you shut down during an uninstall. You'll lose all of the settings you've changed since then, but it should work again. Here's how:

The problem might be fixable without restore, but it'll be very complex, probably involving examining and removing corrupted installer registry keys. A full reinstall would be quicker for the inexperienced.

- Posted by: oscarsgrandma_9920 at 31 Oct 14:31 permalinkcalled Dell and they said my harddrive was bad after doing some tests. They are sending me a new one. I reimaged the harddrive and it seems to be working now but will probably change it out anyway
