Hi there,

I know you wrote that you tried a lot of things to solve this issue, but im not sure what they were.

1. In the link you showed us, did you make sure you Re-installed Quicktime not itunes ?
you can just run a repair install from Add/Remove Programs

2. Can your computer playback other sounds? try opening an mp3 with Windows Media Player if there are no sounds then
Under the controlpanel > sounds and audio > under the audio tab make sure the correct device is listed.

3. Also make sure that you have the latest version of itunes, as bugs are fixed with every new release

if you have already tried this steps let us know :)
