Some possibilities:
1. Your DNS servers were changed to hijacked servers. Change them to these OpenDNS addresses:
208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
You can find them in Control Panel->Network Connections, right click on local area or wireless->properies->Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)->properties. DNS servers are at the bottom.
2. Your hosts file was stuffed with hijacked ips. You can find the file at C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts (no extension). Open it up and either delete everything except localhost, or replace it with the hosts file from http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm
3. Winsock corruption. You can use netsh reset winsock and netsh reset ip from the run menu, if those can't fix it then a system file was likely modified, check that with sfc /checknow (you'll need your XP CD).
Consider installing SP3 while you're at it.
