I've been trying to install many different programs onto my computer recently, and I keep on getting on the message. Error 1606 Could not acess the network location 0\. I attempted editing the registry but the common administive tools key is not there Configuration: Microsoft Producer Add-in 2003 installation History: recently installed norton 360, suspect that is the problem |

These are the fixes for that error that I am familiar with...The first one usually does it.
Click on “Start-Run, type “regedit” (without the quotes) Navigate to this registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders
Clear the key: Recent (right mouse click on the key/folder, choose “Delete”) Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.
Or …. “Error 1606. Could Not Access Network Location <Common Administrative Tools>.All Users\'' Error Message When You Install a Program”
