answer
Talk Time is, well, the time you talk on your cellphone. More specifically it could relate to how much your service provider charges you per month (100 hrs of talk time), or to how long the cellphone's battery will last. And that's where "standby time" comes in. How long you battery will last between charging depends on talk and standby time. If you only have one 5 minute call a day, you phone will go longer between charges (low talk time, long standby time). If you're a chatter box (long talk time), then you'll have to charge more often. If you talk a lot but turn off the phone between calls (long talk time, short standby time), you might conserve the battery charge to go a little longer between charges. Most cellphone batteries are describe by XX talk time, XXX standby time, to indicate the duration possible between charges.
