I downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird and used the setup wizard to add my free yahoo email account. I was told to name the incoming server: pop.mail.yahoo.com and the outgoing server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I entered my yahoo information (username@yahoo.com) and password, but when I try to access the email I keep getting the message that yahoo replied that the user name and password is invalid. How do I solve this problem? Configuration: Thunderbird version 2.0.0.16 History: no relevant recent history |

It is my understanding that the "free" yahoo mail will not work with programs like Thunderbird and Outlook.
You need to look at Yahoo Mail Plus or a product like Zimbra Desktop.

Free Yahoo does not have pop3 service included. You need to upgrade to Yahoo plus or use 3rd party aps to make it work.
