Zolved - I downloaded Mozilla Thunderbird and used the setup wizard to add my free yahoo email account. I was told to name the incoming server: pop.mail.yahoo.com and the outgoing server: smtp.mail.yahoo.com. I entered my yahoo information (username@yahoo.com) and password, but when I try to access the email I keep getting the message that yahoo replied that the user name and password is invalid. It is my understanding that the "free" yahoo mail will not work with programs like Thunderbird and Outlook.

You need to look at Yahoo Mail Plus or a product like Zimbra Desktop.

I downloaded YPOPS! that is supposed to allow "free" yahoo to work on Thunderbird.

I used to use a program called Yahoopops. It was a pain to set up.
