Hi Vicki well have try opening in safe mode. If not you can get a cd from ebay that has it's own opertating system (mini PE ) you can open the file threw there and even copy to another file so it can corranate with your c: drive.

Is your account an administrator?
If not then grant admin rights to that account then try to open it straight from the D: drive.

hi
Re-do the same process (I mean change the Mydocuments path back to d: Drive) So the registry entry will be generated. After that just restart the PC and try opeaning Mydocument. If you are able to open directly from D Drive please take a backup copy before doing this. Or else delete the current user and create again the same user with same name and try this should work fine for you.

Can you navigate to the D drive and actually see your data?
There are registry settings that need to be changed in order to view my documents on a different drive. Or in your case sounds like a different partition. If you can actually see the data on the D drive, go ahead now and back it up, before making any changes in permission in the registry. If you formatted you C partition and reinstalled Windows those permissions that you had before no longer exsist.
If you would like I can set up a remote session and take a look at your pc, and check the permissions and registry.
Just click on the 3rd box at the top and download the tool for "share my computer".
Follow the instructions for connecting.
