Zolved Free Remote Control FAQ
Zolved Free Remote Control FAQ
1. Why are you doing this?
I'm tired of trying to get my Dad to describe what is wrong with his computer.
2. Why is it free?
We wonder how other companies get away with charging for it and when Karma will catch up with them. The open source community has been offering this free technology for years.
3. Do I need to configure the router if I have a firewall?
Zolved does not require configuration of routers or firewalls. Just click on download and install the software. Click on the Zolved Icon and you are ready to connect with anyone securely. However, there may be situations where Zolved Remote Control does not work. If it does not work for you, please give us some feedback on your configuration and why you believe it may not be working.
4. Can I transfer files with Zolved?
Yes, if the person being viewed allows it.
5. What's up with the distorted colors when viewing someone's computer?
Computers these days have very high resolution, which means that it takes a lot of CPU and bandwidth to present the exact picture, which has a negative impact on responsiveness. So Zolved Remote Control may 'step down' the color resolution that it presents to you in order to make the mouse, keyboard and picture refresh more responsive. This is a common technique in VNC and most other Remote Control technologies.
6. Does Zolved record my sessions on its servers?
No, we've got our own problems. We aren't interested in the ones you are trying to solve ;-)
7. Why doesn't anyone show up to help me after I connect?
You need to invite someone to download the 'viewer', share your secret PIN with that trusted advisor and get your problem resolved.
