How Can I Use My Camcorder VP-D363i As A Webcam

Most of our Digital Video Camcorders and a few Hi-8 Camcorders can be used as Webcams and with virtually no effort. Once you've installed the dvc driver, you're only a step away from sharing streaming video with friends and family. The dvc driver can be found on the disc provided with your purchase. If you no longer have the disc, you can obtain the driver from our Download Center.
You will also need to obtain webcam software. There are many websites and messenger services that provide free software and tools for your needs. Yahoo® Messenger is a free, easy-to-use messenger service which provides video messaging, voice messaging and many other features. You can download and install Yahoo® Messenger at www.yahoo.com (Samsung is not affiliated with, nor assumes any responsibility for Yahoo®, Yahoo® Messenger or any affiliates.)
Now that you've installed your camcorder driver and webcam software, let the fun begin.
- Connect the USB cable to the camcorder and the PC.
- Power On the Camcorder and put in REC Mode. Windows will detect the device. (If you are using a DuoCam, you must use the Camcorder side.)
- Launch Messenger or other webcam software.
- If using Messenger, click on the Webcam Button in the message pane of the "contact" with whom you wish to share video. Read the agreement and click OK.
- Your streaming video will begin.
For more information regarding webcam use or troubleshooting, you must refer to the User Guide or FAQ's for the software you are using. Samsung does not support webcam software or messneger services of any kind.
Note: With the exception of zoom+/-, all buttons become inoperable when using your camcorder as a webcam.
