Read this article to know what is required to download video from Canon camcorder to your Windows-based computer.

You require the following to download video from your Mini DV Camcorder to your computer:
  • A computer with a working IEEE-1394 (Firewire) port*
  • Digital Video capture and editing software. Windows Movie Maker, which is bundled with Windows XP* is one such software.

* For camcorders that are capable of downloading video through a USB 2.0 High Speed connection, a working USB 2.0 High Speed port and Windows Movie Maker 2 is required.
