Blocking certain websites using Comcast Home Networking Gateway.
How do I block access to certain web sites using my Comcast Home Networking Gateway?
To add a key word or Web site to the Blocked Key Word/Web site list, please follow these steps:
- Click on Parental Controls
- Click on Web site Blocking
- Place a check in the box labelled Check to enable Web site Blocking:
- In the Key Word/Web site: field, if you enter in a key word, for instance example, you will block many Web sites that contain the word example in the address. These blocked Web sites would include: www.example.com, www.example.net, www.example.org. If you enter a Web address - for instance www.example.net, you will only block this address.
- To add a Key Word or Web site, enter the word or site address in the space provided, and click the Add button.
- That will add the word or site to the Block Web sites that contain these Key Words/Web sites list.
- Click Apply to finish.
- If you wish to only apply this rule to specific computers
