How do i report spam to Comcast if I'm using E-Mail program such as Outlook Express or Netscape?
The missed spam (spam that made it through the filters that reside on the Comcast mail servers) must be sent to missed-spam@comcast.net as RFC-822 MIME encoded attachments.
The missed spam (spam that made it through the filters that reside on the Comcast mail servers) must be sent to missed-spam@comcast.net as RFC-822 MIME encoded attachments. What this means is that in order for our spam filtering software to work effectively, you must send us the spam in a specific format. We have provided instructions below on how to make sure that you're sending us the spam in the required format. Please note that the spam message that you're reporting must be less than 3 (three) days old, otherwise it will not be processed.
Spam messages must be submitted one at a time - reporting multiple messages in one E-Mail will result in the messages being ignored.
Here are instructions for sending messages as MIME encoded attachments in Microsoft Outlook Express 6, Outlook Express 5, Outlook and Netscape Messenger.
- Right click on the message you wish to send and select Forward As Attachment.
- Enter missed-spam@comcast.net as the To: address
- Send the message. If you receive a message about the E-Mail having no subject, click OK
- Select the message you want to submit.
- Click on Message, then Forward as Attachment. You should see an Attach: row under the Subject.
- Address the new message to missed-spam@comcast.net. Leave the subject and body of the message blank.
- Send the message. If Outlook Express warns you that the message has no subject, just click OK.
- Under the Tools menu select Options.
- Under the Preferences tab, press the E-mail options... button.
- On the bottom half of the window, under When forwarding a message select attach original message from the drop-down menu.
- When submitting a message, specify the address missed-spam@comcast.net, and send the message.
