Why is Comcast Webmail blocked after I install Windows XP Service Pack 2?

In Windows XP Service Pack 2, Microsoft included a pop-up blocker as a part of the Internet Explorer updates.

In Windows XP Service Pack 2, Microsoft included a pop-up blocker as a part of the Internet Explorer updates. This pop-up blocker, by default, will consider Comcast Webmail(and several other links on Comcast.net, including Ask Comcast) as pop-ups. To add Comcast.net to your list of trusted sites (so Comcast Webmail and other links won't be blocked) please follow the steps outlined below.

  1. Open Internet Explorer, select Tools from the top menu, Pop-up Blocker from the drop down list and then Pop-up Blocker Settings....

  2. Enter in *.comcast.net and then click the Add button. This will set Internet Explorer to not block links from all of the Comcast.net web sites (www.comcast.net, help.comcast.net, forums.comcast.net etc). Comcast will never automatically pop up a third-party advertisement.
