Creating additional email addresses in Cox Internet.

How do I create new or additional Cox High Speed Internet email addresses.

This procedure describes how to create an additional email address. Cox subscribers are allowed up to seven email addresses per basic account.

Step Action
Access the Cox Internet Tools webpage to add additional email addresses.

Result: The Internet Tools Customer Login displays.

Enter your primary username and password in the Username and Password boxes and click Login.

Note: If you have several Cox email addresses / usernames under one account, then the primary login is the very first (still active) email address / user name created when you signed up for Cox High Speed Internet service. Refer to Information: Primary and Secondary Usernames and Email Addresses for more information.

Result: The Internet Tools home window displays.

Click Email on the left menu.

Result: A list of Email Addresses displays in the right pane.

Note: If you do not see all the selections shown above you did not login with your Primary Cox email address. Please go back to Step 2 and enter your Primary username and password.

Click Add new email address.

Result: The Add an Email Address pane displays.

In the Choose a Login: box, enter the new username for the new email address.

Username guidelines:

  • Must be between 3 and 32 characters long
  • May contain alphabetic characters ("a" to "z"), numbers ("0" to "9"), a dash (-), an underscore (_), and a period (".")
  • Must not start or end with a period (".")
  • Is not case sensitive
  • In the Choose a Password: box, enter a password for the new email account.
  • In the Retype the Password: box, enter the same password for confirmation.

Password guidelines:

  • Must have between 8 and 24characters
  • Must include at least one letter and one numeral
  • Must not include any form of the word "password"
  • Must not be the same as the username
  • Is case sensitive

Click Add Email.

Result: An Add an Email Address confirmation window displays with the new email address you are requesting to add.

Click Confirm if the email address is correct, or click Cancel to recreate and correct the email address.

After clicking Confirm, one of the following messages displays:

  • Add new Email Address Failure

The Email Address list displays with an error stating that the requested login is already in use.  Example: The requested login 'coxcustomer@cox.net' is already in use.

  • Add New Email Address Success
      The Email Address list displays with the new email address showing In Progress.

       All steps complete
