How do I set up my BellSouth E-mail Account Using Netscape

Solution:
  1. Open Netscape.
  2. Click on the Edit menu.
  3. Select Mail/Newsgroups Account Settings.



  4. On the left-hand side of the window, select Outgoing Server (SMTP).
  5. In the Server name field, type mail.bellsouth.net.
  6. In the User Name field, type your BellSouth User Name.
  7. Click OK then Click New Account (for v6.X) or Add Account (for v7.X). The Account Wizard displays.



  8. Click the ISP or e-mail provider option (for v6.x) or Email account (for v7.X).
  9. Click Next.



  10. In the Your Name field, type your name as you would like it to appear in the From field of outgoing messages.
  11. In the E-mail Address field, type your complete BellSouth e-mail address.
  12. Click Next.
  13. The Server Information Screen is Displayed.



  14. Click the button next to POP for the incoming server.
  15. In the Server Name field, type mail.bellsouth.net.
  16. Click Next.



  17. The User Name Screen is Displayed.
  18. In the User Name field, type your user name. NOTE: Your user name is all the characters to the left of the @ symbol in your e-mail address. For example, in the email address, johnsmith@bellsouth.net, johnsmith is the user name.
  19. Click Next.



  20. The Account Name Screen is displayed.
  21. In the Account Name field, type your e-mail address.
  22. Click Next.



  23. The Congratulations screen is displayed.
  24. On the Congratulations screen, click Finish.
