1. Open Entourage by first double-clicking on the Hard Drive icon on the desktop.
2. Next click on the Applications icon.
3. Click on Microsoft Office X.
4. Double-click on Entourage. An informational screen displays:
   
   
   
   
5. Click Yes. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Welcome screen displays.
   
6. In the First name field, type your first name.
   
7. In the Last name field, type your last name.
   
8. Click the right arrow. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Home Information screen displays.
   
9. Type your Street, City, State/Province, ZIP code, Country/Region, and Phone.
   
10. Click the right arrow. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Work Information screen displays.
    
11. Type the Company, Street, City, State/Province, ZIP code, Country/Region, Phone.
    
12. Click the right arrow. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Welcome screen displays.
    
13. Select one of the following options:
    
    • I want to start using Entourage without importing anything. Click this option if Entourage has not been used previously.
      
    • Information from Microsoft Entourage 2001. Click this option if Entourage has been used previously and you will be importing data.
      
    • Information from my e-mail program. Click this option if you have an existing e-mail program from which you want to import data. For example, Outlook, Outlook Express, etc.
    • Information from both my e-mail program and my PIM. Click this option if you have an existing e-mail program and personal information manager (PIM) from which you want to import data.
    • Information from my personal information manager (PIM), for example, contacts, events, tasks, and notes. Click this option if you have an existing personal information manager (PIM) from which you want to import data.

    
    
    

14. Click the right arrow. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Junk Mail Filter window displays.
    
15. Verify there is no checkmark next to Enable Junk Mail Filter. If there is, click in the box to remove the checkmark.
    
    
    
    
16. Click the right-facing arrow. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Your Name window displays.
    
17. In the Your name field, type your name.
18. Click the right arrow. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Your E-mail address window displays.
    
19. Click the radio button next to I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use.
    
20. In the E-mail address field, type your e-mail address. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Mail Servers window displays.
    
21. In the My incoming mail server is a(n) ______ server field, select POP.
    
22. In the Incoming mail server field, type mail.bellsouth.net.
    
23. In the Outoing (SMTP) mail server field, type mail.bellsouth.net.
    
24. Click the right arrow. The Entourage Setup Assistant - Account ID and Password window displays.
    
25. In the Account ID field, type your username (without the @bellsouth.net).
    
26. In the password field, type your password. The Congratulations window displays.
    
27. In the Account name field, type a descriptive name for the account, such as BellSouth.
    
28. Click Finish.
    
    
    
    Now that you have setup an e-mail account within Entourage, you will need to check the new account for the appropriate settings to send mail.
    
29. With Entourage Open, click the Tools menu.
    
30. Select Account.
    
31. Verify that the Mail tab is selected.
    
32. Double-click on the account name that you just created (ex: BellSouth).
    
    
    
    
    
33. In the next window, click the Click here for advanced sending options button.
    
    
    
    
34. In the next window, make sure that the SMTP server requires authentication option is not checked.
    
35. Make sure that the Use same settings as receiving mail sever option is checked.
    
    
    
    
36. Click OK.
