Cannot connect with AT&T Yahoo! ISP

No Summary

One of the first things that you should do if you are unable to connect to the Internet is to check your DSL equipment to make sure it is set up correctly and working properly.

The following steps with links to related articles can help you diagnose and resolve connection issues.

1.       Power cycle the DSL modem. Note: Connectivity will be lost while performing this step.  Please bookmark (add to Favorites) this page for future reference in the event connectivity is lost.

2.       Set up: Check to ensure the modem/gateway is set up correctly.

3.       Lights: Check to ensure the modem/gateway is working properly.

4.       Verify that you’re connected to AT&T Yahoo! HIgh Speed Internet.

5.       See No connection? Check Member ID and Password to ensure your account Member ID and password matches the Member ID and password in your DSL modem or 2Wire gateway.

6.       Check that line filters have been properly installed for all phone lines in use. See How to install line filters for more information.

7.       Verify that no viruses or spyware are running on your computer. Visit AT&T Yahoo! Online Protection - The Bundled Security Solution to download the Online Protection software suite. This software solution can also remove viruses and spyware.

8.       Clear browser cache. Clearing the Internet browser cache may help to reduce delays in accessing web pages by freeing space on the hard drive to allow for temporary storage of more web content.

9.       Browse by IP address to determine if there is a problem with your DNS server.

10.   See Troubleshooting Enternet 300 software problems to diagnose and resolve problems with Enternet 300.

11.   Click-To-Fix: Automatically detect and fix the problem (Windows XP/2000/ME/98).
