Instructions on setting up content screening for Parental Controls Plus
The Content Screening section of Parental Controls Plus provides the highest level of protection available by:
- Blocking access to websites by content categories (e.g. Sexually Explicit, Hate, Gambling) using a continuously updated screening list
- Blocking access to specific websites that you define as inappropriate
- Providing access to specific websites that you have defined as approved
- Type http://www.homeportal in your browser's Address field.
- On the Home page, click Set Up Now.
- On the Computer Assignment page, select the appropriate group for each computer including Kids, Teens, or No Restrictions.
- Note: The Kids group blocks all content categories with the exception of websites specifically rated as Kid’s sites for children 0 to 9 years old. The Teens group blocks selective categories that are considered to be inappropriate for children 10 years and older.
- Note: To access definitions of the content screening categories, refer to the Info: What is Parental Controls Plus.
- Click Save.
