How To Install the Alcatel Speedtouch USB Modem with Windows XP

Instructions for installing the Alcatel Speedtouch USB Modem.

To install the Alcatel Speedtouch USB modem on Windows XP, do the following:
  1. Put the Alcatel SpeedTouch USB Installation CD in the CD-ROM drive.
    • Note: If you need to order a replacement CD, call Technical Support at 1-888-321-2375.
  2. Click Next on the SpeedTouch USB Setup window.
  3. Click Yes on the Software License Agreement window.
  4. Click Next on the Choose Destination Location window.

                       

  5. Click Next on the Select Program Folder window.

                                     

  6. When the Setup Complete window indicates that the installation is complete. Click Finish.
  7. Connect the modem to the USB port on the computer.
    • The USB Port is usually on the back of the computer, although some manufacturers install them on the front or side of the computer.

  8. Connect the modem to the telephone jack supplying the FastAccess® DSL.
  9. Once you've connected the modem to the USB port and to the FastAccess® DSL line, the Found New Hardware Wizard window displays. Select Install the software automatically (recommended).

  10. Click Next.
    • The installation continues with the creation of the appropriate Dial-Up Networking connections.
  11. Click Finish on the Completing the Found New Hardware Wizard window.
