How do I save RealAudio or RealMedia clips to my computer with RealPlayer?

No Summary

This document applies to:

- RealPlayer 10

The RealAudio (.ra) and RealMedia (.rm) file formats are designed to distribute high-quality presentations while protecting the copyrights of the organization serving the content (the content provider). The content providers may choose to let you download the file and save it to the hard drive on your computer instead of streaming it.

Warning: The content provider may not want to or cannot lawfully allow audio or video files to be recorded. Saving or recording RealAudio or RealMedia files may violate the copyrights of the content providers.

If the Web site is linked directly to the RealAudio or RealMedia files, you may be able to save the file directly from your Web browser:

1. Right-click the link to the presentation in the Web page.
2. From the pull-down menu, select the option Save Link As or Save Target As.
3. Select the folder in which you would like to save the file, and click Save.

If the file appears in the Save As window with the extension .ram at the end of the name, it is a random access memory (RAM) file and cannot be downloaded. Also, it is not possible to save RealAudio or RealMedia presentations that are embedded in Web pages.
