How do I make RealPlayer automatically import media files into My Library from my computer?

To make RealPlayer automatically scan for and import the clips you have downloaded or copied to your computer, you can set up watch folders.

This document applies to:

- RealPlayer 10

To make RealPlayer automatically scan for and import the clips you have downloaded or copied to your computer, you can set up watch folders. The clips copied or downloaded in watch folders will be automatically imported into RealPlayer.

To set up watch folders in RealPlayer:

1. Open RealPlayer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Preferences. The Preferences box opens.
3. In the Category pane, click My Library.
4. To customize watch folders, choose one or more of these options:

- Select the Check Watched Folders for clips every xx minutes check box to have RealPlayer automatically scan folders in your watch list.
- Adjust the number of minutes to set the time between scans.
- Select the Include commonly used media folders check box to add folders to your watch list that other media players on your computer also use. This does not change which player is your default player for a media type, but it adds any music or video you download to My Library without you having to initiate a scan or add the files individually at a later time.
- To add one or more folders to your watch list, click the Add Folder button. This opens the Browse for Folder dialog box. From here, you can select and add a folder to your watch list. Click OK.
- To remove a folder from the watch list, highlight it and click the Remove Folder button.

5. Click OK to save the changes.
