What is the purpose of Custom Word List field on AOL mail?

  • Mail containing words in this list will be moved to the Spam Folder.
  • Words can appear in the subject or body of the message.
  • Mail from senders in your Address Book and Buddy List® will always be delivered to your main mailbox.
  • You can use wildcards in the Custom Word List. Type the asterisk sign (*) next to a word to allow partial matches to be moved to the Spam folder. For example, type "*berry" and mail containing words such as "strawberry" and "cranberry" will be moved to the Spam folder.
