What is the purpose of the outbound character Settings on AOL ISP e-mail account?
No Summary
The Outbound Character set setting usage determines which character sets are used for reading and writing messages. This is set by default on Unicode (UTF-8). The other options available are for international users.
Signature Setting
You can include a signature on every e-mail you send with the AIM Mail service. You can adjust your signature options by clicking the box next to the feature to place a check mark in it to enable the feature, or clear it to disable the feature. There are two features you can select:
- Add this signature to messages sent using AIM Mail:: If this option is enabled, you can type a signature in the text box to be included in any message you compose. Once you have entered text in the box, the Include my online presence status in my signature option will become available.
- Include my online presence status in my signature: If this option and the Use Rich Text / HTML Editing option are enabled, an icon will be included in your signature that the recipient can click on to launch the AOL® Instant Messenger™ service, if it is installed on their computer.
Note: To delete a previously saved signature, click the Add this signature to messages sent using AIM Mail: box to clear it, then click the Save button.
