Reading
When reading e-mail, you may be warned before opening messages containing images. This is a safety setting that is turned on by default. If you wish to turn this safety setting off, follow the steps below.
To turn the images warning off:
1. In the upper right corner of the AOL Mail or AIM Mail window, click the Settings button.
2. On the left, click the Security Controls tab.
3. Next to Reading:, click the Display a warning before opening messages containing images box to clear it.
4. Click the Save button.
Session
The session security setting will automatically sign you off whenever you are inactive for a period of time. This feature will sign you off of AIM Mail after 24 hours of inactivity by default. The other options for this setting are 30 minutes, 2 hours, 8 hours and 2 weeks.
To change the Session setting:
1. On the AOL Mail or AIM Mail window, in the upper right, click the Settings button.
2. On the left, click the Security Controls tab.
3. Next to Session:, click the drop-down menu to open it, then click the desired inactivity timer.
4. Click the Save button.
