  1. Verify the service has been activated.
    • If transferring an existing telephone number to EarthLink, check your email account for a message containing the service activation date for the DSL and Home Phone Service. You will be without phone service approximately 20 minutes between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on your service activation date while your service is being transferred. After 6 p.m. the service should be activated.
    • If you requested a new telephone number, EarthLink will schedule an appointment with you for a technician to visit your home. The technician will activate your DSL and Home Phone Service.

  2. Install the DSL modem. Please refer to article 28821 for additional installation procedures.

  3. Install DSL filters. Please refer to article 79843 for additional installation procedures.

  4. Configure the DSL modem. Please review article 183282 for further installation instructions.
