How to use advanced Broadband settings on AOL ISP connection?

You can use the Advanced Broadband Settings to create new broadband profiles, determine the connection behavior of your broadband locations, and set up manual TCP/IP and proxy settings.
How to Use Advanced Broadband Settings
1. Launch the AOL® software but do not sign on.
2. Click the Connect Options button.
3. Click the Advanced Settings button.
4. Click the Broadband tab.
5. Click the Continue button.
6. Choose your settings.
7. Click the Save button.

No Locations

Current Locations
If there is one or more locations already set up, you can click the You are currently editing settings for: drop-down menu to open it, choose the location you want to edit from the list, then click it. Once the location is selected, you can edit the location's settings or delete it by clicking the Delete current profile link, then clicking the Yes button.
No Locations
If there are no locations set up, you can click the Add a Broadband profile like to create a new location.
Connect to the Internet
The are two settings available in this section:
- Automatically reconnect me and ignore interruptions in the event of an unexpected disconnect: This setting automatically restarts a connection if the connection gets interrupted.
- Always reconnect with Dial-Up if Broadband fails using this connection: This setting starts a connection using your dial-up modem if your broadband connection fails. You can select the dial-up location you want to use by clicking the drop-down menu to open it, choose the location you want to use from the list, then click it.
TCP/IP and Proxy Configurations
You can choose from two settings for your TCP/IP and proxy server preference:
- Automatic proxy configuration: This setting will use the standard AOL® settings when using a TCP/IP connection. This setting will work for most Internet Service Provider (ISP) and local area network (LAN) connections.
- Manual proxy configuration: This setting will allow you to manually change the TCP/IP and proxy settings as needed by your firewall or proxy server.
Note: Clicking the Reset button will restore the proxy setting to the Automatic proxy configuration.
