Earthlink: Computer I am dialing does not answer (Error 678).
I get an error message stating "Error 678: The computer you are dialing did not answer." (Earthlink DSL).

| Solution |
Customer has an LT or Lucent Winmodem. To temporarily disable V.90, use S38=0 -V90=0. To enable V.90, use S38=0 -V90=1. Information about this modem driver is available at http://modemsite.com/56k/wild.htm
Note: The WildWire chipset supports both v.90 and Universal DSL, and automatically detects the presence of DSL switching. The DSL portion supports DMT (Discrete Multione) signaling.
