How to Install EarthLink TotalAccess 2003 with a DSL Connection
Follow these steps to install EarthLink TotalAccess 2003 with a DSL connection.
- Make sure your DSL equipment is connected.
- Insert the EarthLink TotalAccess CD into your computer's CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
- If the EarthLink TotalAccess installer window does not start automatically after inserting the CD-ROM, start the installer by double-clicking the My Computer icon located on your Windows desktop (For Windows XP, select Start, then My Computer). In the My Computer window, double-click the letter representing your Compact Disc (CD-ROM). It will include the name EarthLink. Finally double-click the Setup icon.
- Click the Install button to start the EarthLink TotalAccess installation.
- Click the I Accept button after reading and accepting EarthLink's Internet Service Agreement.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Continue button to install the EarthLink TotalAccess software to the C:\Program Files\EarthLink TotalAccess location, where C: represents the drive containing the Program Files directory. If you would like to install the EarthLink TotalAccess software to another location, click the Browse button and select the directory. We recommend installing the software to the default location.
- Please wait while the files are copied to your computer's hard disk. This process may take several minutes.
- Once the files are copied to your computer's hard disk, you will need to click the Restart button to complete the installation. After your computer restarts, step-by-step instructions will guide you through the set up of your email and Internet access.
- After the computer restarts, a Location Type window will appear. Please wait until this window appears to complete the EarthLink TotalAccess software set up.
- Click the DSL radio button in the How will you be connecting to EarthLink area.
- Click the Next button.
- If you are prompted to restart your computer, do so. After your computer has restarted, an Add My Account window will appear.
- In the Email field, type the first part of your email address (everything before the @ sign).
- Use the Email drop-down list and choose the part of your email address after the @ sign.
- In the Password field, type your EarthLink password.
- Click the Next button.
- Click the Print or Save button to keep a copy of the account information for you records.
- Click the Go Online button if you want to surf the web now or click Exit.
