How do I Uninstall and Reinstall TCP/IP in Windows 98/Me (EarthLink DSL)

Follow these steps to go with the process of uninstalling and reinstalling TCP/IP.


The following steps will you through the process of uninstalling and reinstalling TCP/IP.
  • Click the Start button, click Settings, and choose Control Panel.



  • Double-click the Network icon.



  • Select TCP/IP in the list.



    Note: If there is more than one TCP/IP listed choose TCP/IP -> Dial-Up Adapter.

  • Click the Remove button.
  • Click the Add button.
  • Select Protocol in the list.


  • Click the Add button.
  • Select Microsoft in the Manufacturers list.
  • Select TCP/IP in the Network Protocols list.



  • Click the OK button.
  • Click the OK button.

    Note: If prompted, insert the Windows CD-ROM or point to the cabinet files.

  • Click the Yes button when prompted to reboot the computer.




    Try connecting to the internet when the computer is finished rebooting.
